Our client is a fast paced high growth, highly profitable commercial lighting systems manufacturer with 31 years of profitable operating history across USA and Canada for commercial/residential products. Client has an immediate opening for a uniquely qualified person to lead their global supply chain operations, processes, procedures and systems.
VP of Operations - Oak Park, IL
The ideal candidate is innovative and entrepreneurially minded with a positive, roll up the sleeves attitude and possesses strategic, analytical, and tactical experience for increasing engagement and growth through lean manufacturing. Strong leadership skills, with a solid record and full P&L responsibility in previous positions, are real assets to receive serious consideration for this exciting opportunity.

Essential Functions:

Support the supply chain organization to enhance productivity, maximize throughput and ensure safety.
Establish a global logistics plan to ensure timely and cost-effective shipments on a worldwide basis.
Oversee and direct the order fulfillment process from material forecasting with Sales, supply planning, master scheduling, purchasing, order shipment and distribution.
Directly manage issues relating to product problems and failures and resolution through the company's suppliers.
Directly manage the Customer Service Manager, Warehouse Manager, Director of Fulfillment, Director of Supply Chain, Director of IT, Director of Sourcing located in Asia Assembly Manager, Buyer, and Materials Mannager.
Oversees the company's facilities and equipment to insure maximum efficiency and utilization.
Manage capital improvement projects.
Critically evaluate existing and proposed warehousing needs including satellite locations and third party relationships.
Periodically reviews departmental staffing levels for change determination and labor adjustments
In cooperation with the Warehouse Manager, review and direct the company's outbound freight service.
Develop and implement assembly methods, utilization standards and cost analysis to promote efficient staff and facility utilization. Develop metrics to determine when domestic assembly operations should be shifted to Asian suppliers.
Oversees and develops operations department metrics (Schedule Adherance, Productivity, Shipping, Inventory, Customer Lead Times,and Operations Costs)
Oversee and direct the activities of the company's customer service department, including returned goods.
Responsible for the resolution of field problems including, but not limited to product defects or mis-installation.
Direct the company's Buyer to insure the timely delivery of goods and the reduction of overstocked inventory.
Establish an inventory management plan that optimizes asset utilization and order fulfillment flexibility.
Oversee and direct a strategy to achieve optimal fill rates, inventory turnover, in-stock percentage, development and management of inventory reorder points, safety stock and inventory goals.
Establish and oversee inventory forecasting planning tools and conduct forecasting meetings with key vendors to insure proper future production. Confer with vendors on terms and on-time performance.
Develop, implement and maintain the company's supplier quality and internal control programs.
Lead the company's safety program, including measures to minimize industrial accidents or injuries, and employee training.
Bi-annualy reviews and makes necessary changes to the Carrier, Freight Forwarder, Ocean and Air Inbound shipping services and contracts
Oversees Duty Drawback progam ensuring timely submissions and Custom's reimbursements
Coordinate all supplier New Product Development activities/communications and sample/production execution. This includes but is not limted to advising on costs, manufacturing processes, blue print tolerancing, and source representation
Develops monthly investor Operations Reoport and reports out on operations progress and recorded measures/metrics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must possess a good understanding of supply chain management and logistics in a complex distribution environment. APICS certification a plus.
Must have demonstrated success in implementing performance measures and analyzing productivity.
Must have superior team leadership and oral and written communication skills.
Must have good understanding of typical LED light fixture manufacturing processes (Die Casting, Electrical, Assembly)
Proficiency in ERP and Microsoft software.
Experience with Lean Operations is a plus.

EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Bachelor degree in engineering/ supply chain logistics or business discipline or equivalent experience.
MBA a plus.
Minimum ten (10) years of global logistics experience dealing with import and export to the Pacific Rim.
Minimum ten (10) years in a supervisory capacity.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
