PetVets Animal Hospital is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated, and caring Veterinary Assistants and Technicians (CVTs, RVTs, or 5 years of TECH experience) to join our team! We are an AAHA certified, progressive and integrative small animal practice located minutes from Chicago in historic Oak Park, IL.
Our practice's primary goal is to provide patient centered quality care while enhancing the pet-owner bond.

Our ideal veterinary assistant will be experienced in the duties listed below and be team-oriented with a strong work ethic to practice in a family friendly environment with emphasis on communication, service, collaboration and relationship building.
Our patients receive state of the art care including digital radiology, ultrasound, surgical CO2 laser, class IV therapeutic laser, thermal imaging, acupuncture and a physical rehabilitation center with hydrotherapy.
These are full time positions and our veterinary assistants & our technicians work five days a week.
Your schedule will be a combination of morning and afternoon shifts (8am-4pm;11am-7pm) and rotate to include alternate days off when working every other Saturday 9am-3pm.

Our veterinary assistants perform a wide range of duties including but not limited to:
restraining pets for exams, testing & treatments giving vaccinations performing nail trims, ear cleanings, & gland expression entering visit charges into the system preparing various paperwork for technicians, veterinarians, and clients preparing prescriptions cleaning exam rooms and work areas performing blood draws prepping and running labs Our veterinary technician, CVT, RVT experience must include but are not limited to:
Effective communication with & between staff, vets, & clients Triaging patients and Client communication Assisting with surgery/equipment Performing in house labs, urinalysis, microscopy Animal restraint and handling - We are fear-free certified Venipuncture/Placing IVC Performing radiographs Administering medications/monitoring hospitalized patients Vaccinating, bandage application & changes, laser treatments Preparing prescriptions Licensed CVTs, RVTs must have 1 year hospital experience; unlicensed veterinary technicians with 5
years' of technician experience performing the above duties will be considered.
Only those with previous veterinary hospital assistant experience will be considered.
