JOB TITLE:

Full-time (32-40 hours a week) beginning immediately with a period of on-the-job training.
COMPENSATION:
Starting pay is $22-25 an hour.
Alternative pay rate offered for any dance teaching hours if also employed with substitute capabilities.

This position reports to the Owner and manages the administrative team and instructor team.
EMPLOYMENT
Summary:
Dance studio in Oak Park is looking to fill a full-time, General Manager position.
This role has strong potential for advancement.
A typical weekday for this position begins at 1:
00pm with office work before afternoon employees and customers arrive.
This might include reviewing staffing schedules for an upcoming event, running payroll, preparing documentation for employee performance reviews, scheduling facility repairs with contractors, or improving standard operating procedures.
Administrative staff arrive between 2:
00-3:
00pm, at which time the GM may hold meetings with specific department heads and delegate daily tasks.
Customers arrive for classes between 3:
30pm and 8:
30pm.
This time is spent ensuring standard operating procedures are being carried out appropriately, resolving any elevated issues, or providing backup assistance to members of the administrative team or teaching team.
The evening may finish by touching base with the Owner on the day's projects and ensuring the administrative staff is prepared to accurately close the facilities after the GM's departure.

Operations Oversee all aspects of the studio's operations, ensuring efficient and effective functioning Develop and implement studio policies and procedures to enhance productivity and quality Ensure compliance with TDS standard operating procedures Ensure administrative and instructor deadlines are met Oversee and ensure fulfillment of all daily tasks and administrative special initiatives (Student Class Level Recommendations, Competitive Team Invitations, registration processing during times of high volume, etc.
) Direct and oversee implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures.
Train all staff on the TDS EAP.
Manage payroll and benefits Coordinate with department heads to meet the studio's goals in marketing, sales, dance programming, and other areas 2.
Staffing & Employee Management Recruit, hire, train, and supervise studio administrative, reception, instructor, and substitute instructor staff Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting TranscenDance Studios core values Maintain a high level of employee satisfaction Conduct employee performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for staff development Coordinate staff schedules and shift trades, ensuring adequate coverage for classes, rentals, events (team, community, recital, etc.

Facility Scheduling Coordinate scheduling of classes, rehearsals, private lessons, additional routines, and events, optimizing studio capacity and resources Work with Special Event Coordinator for studio special event scheduling Work with Rental Coordinator for rental event scheduling Work with Team Program Business Manager for rehearsal, additional routine, and performance scheduling 4.
Customer Service & Relationship Management Provide exceptional customer service, addressing elevated inquiries, concerns, and feedback from students, parents, and visitors Conduct regular evaluations of customer satisfaction and implement improvement plans as needed Build positive and collaborative relationships with students, parents, and the dance community Represent the studio at community events, competitions, and industry conferences to build relationships and promote the studio's brand 5.
Facility Management Maintain studio facilities, equipment, and resources, ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are met Coordinate maintenance needs with contractors Recommend to the owner necessary capital equipment and major repairs, and be involved in the competitive bidding process Interior & Exterior Presentation Oversight Communicate issues, schedule repairs, and pay bills for maintenance services, utilities, and systems 6.

Summary:
Hired employee will work 5 days a week and may be scheduled on a varying combination of weekday and weekend days.
Schedules are typically established and remain the same for the session - Fall-Spring Session (August-June) and Summer Session (June-August).
This position will need to work special event weekends as necessary.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Arts Management, or a related field Previous experience in a managerial role, preferably in youth programming, performing arts, dance, or fitness industry (2 year minimum) Background in dance required (5 year minimum) Experience managing a team of direct reports (2 year minimum) Applicants must submit to and pass a background check for working with children Reliable mode of transportation enabling dependable timeliness required JOB REQUIREMENTS:
